The photography of Mark Sanders.

We're fascinated and in love with the photography of Mr. Mark Sanders and especially his collaboration project with Charlotte Heal, entitled Contours. The duo explain the series as a take on the classic nude. We find it to be fresh, contemporary and just fun to look at.

Orca, by Nicolas Godin.

French musician, Nicolas Godin (Air), brings us both an amazing new tune and fantastic music video. It's visual poetry that will make most creative's mouths water. Beautiful graphics. Incredible art direction. Great music. And lots of throw-back twists. What't not to love.

The photographs of Brecht Cuppens.

Beer from Belgium is good. But we may just like the photography of Monsieur Brecht Cuppens even better. Stunning landscapes, sophistication and the ability to make images with an undeniable touch of design and intention are just a few of Brecht's hallmarks. We're just itching to find an opportunity to work with Brecht. One day.

We love Alexey Kondakov.

This is brilliance by artist Alexey Kondakov. His ongoing series, “Art History in Contemporary Life,” takes scenes and figures lifted from classical paintings and places them into modern-day life. The work is smart, bold and beautiful, and is yet another example of fantastic creative that leaves you smiling.

From GDF Suez to Engie.

The jury is still out on the new Engie logo,  which adopts the rising sun as its logo, “symbolizing a new day in the world of energy.” But the new website is both skillfully and tastefully executed. A simple layout, intuitive and forward thinking design that encourages discovery and exploration seem to be it's Goal. We'll see how the site's audience receives it - as its far from an off-the-shelf design solution. Regardless, the site's fantastically fluid design nuance, filled with wonderful transitions and effects provide an experience that leaves you with a smile.

Bonnie Banane feat. Waltaa I Champs-Élysées.

From PromoNews / It's a brave thing to give the brands and the bling a bit of a slapping in this day and age, but Helmi gives it a go in his video for Bonnie Banana feat. Waltaa's Champs Elysees. It's a satire on the materialism that pervades modern youth culture - and a brilliant visual bombardment to boot.

It's a satire on the materialism that pervades modern youth culture - and a brilliant visual bombardment to boot.

The aesthetic is street culture, with a heavy nod to the 90s. But most importantly Champs Elysees - both song and video - is all about the importance of appearances, and how it quickly turns into materialism and vanity. And drugs.

Interestingly, Helmi and Bonnie and Waltaa developed the song and the visuals at the same time - a very unusual process, but highly effective. Chronicling runaway consumption with hard video FX works a treat. And appropriately the song that says 'everything's for sale' is available to download for free, on weirdata.net.

Marie Rime's stunning series of characters wearing board game masks.

From It's Nice That / Swiss photographer Marie Rime is just about to graduate from her BA in photography at ECAL. In spite of her young age she’s managed to accrue an impressive body of fine art photography that experiments with unorthodox costumes crafted from everyday materials (in this case board game pieces). They concern themselves predominantly with the theme of power, exploring the role that armour and costumes play in the amplification of status in the perception of the viewer. As a result of this coherent and highly stylised portfolio, Marie has found herself shortlisted for this year’s Hyéres photography festival – which seems like an entirely deserved honour to us.

London's got a new workshop in town.

From It's Nice That / Anyone that ever had the good fortune to attend art college will tell you that the worst thing about having to leave and enter the real world (apart from the crippling debt and self-doubt) is that all of a sudden you don’t have access to any facilities. The CAD suites, ceramic studios, woodwork equipment and print studios all just disappear overnight and you’re reduced to finally using that WACOM you bought years before to make a little bit of cash from your patchy software skills.

The CAD suites, ceramic studios, woodwork equipment and print studios all just disappear overnight and you’re reduced to finally using that WACOM you bought years before to make a little bit of cash from your patchy software skills.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. For Londoners of a creative persuasion The Blackhorse Workshop has recently opened its doors in Walthamstow (near-ish to us) offering wood and metalwork facilities for as little as £10 a day (even without your student loan that’s cheap). As far as we can tell they’re offering pretty much everything you could possibly need to build more or less anything you could feasibly imagine, and it’s all wrapped up with a tasty identity designed by Europa and commissioned by Assemble. More of this kind of thing please London; not everyone can start up their fledgling business by hot-desking in cafés.

Say hello to TriDiv.

From Monitis / Say hello to TriDiv, A CSS editor for creating 3D shapes in CSS. It is a really cool web application created by Julian Garnier. TriDiv allows you to build complex 3D models or images in CSS. It’s a great tool prototyping and educational material in general. Imagine you’re designing some stuff using a WYSIWYG tool, but this time, with a 3-dimensional output. You don’t have to worry about any CSS or JavaScript coding because the tool does it for you. Pretty magical isn’t it?

The application allows you to insert 4 shapes and you can also resize and rotate them to whatever you like. It’s up to your creativity of how are you going to mix all 4 shapes to generate your desired output. At the moment you can only add cuboids, pyramids, cylinder, and prisms.

From Justinkrietemeyer / We’re excited to announce the opening reception of Justin Krietemeyer’s first solo show, at the esteemed This Gallery in the Highland Park community of Los Angeles, California. “Oh Snap” will open on Friday, March 1, 2013 and run through March 15. The show is a homecoming for Krietemeyer, his first substantial L.A. exhibition since 2008. “Oh Snap” will feature large graphite renderings with watercolor abstractions of acid house smileys, handmade multiples exploring the idea of almost reaching enlightenment but forgetting the path that took you there, and mixed media panels representing a warm remembering of warehouse parties, surf salutations, desert discoveries, and the infinite present. The exhibition will be colorful, silly, and optimistic with a vibe that’s completely California.

Please plan to attend as you are cordially invited and warmly welcomed.

Water towers.

From It's Nice That / Photography is brilliant at making you stop and appreciate the beauty of everyday things that otherwise can just pass you by. I must have walked by hundreds of lone water-towers in my time but never have I properly stopped and taken a moment to appreciate the concrete fineness of these overbearing structures. I doubt I’m alone in this either, after all the words “water-towers” and “beauty” are probably not something you’d put together, let alone a subject likely to just crop up over the lunch table.

I doubt I’m alone in this either, after all the words “water-towers” and “beauty” are probably not something you’d put together, let alone a subject likely to just crop up over the lunch table.

But that all changes once you’ve feasted your eyes on the photographs of the ever-so-talented Jamie Young in which he beautifully documents water towers standing tall across Ireland’s rolling countryside.

Inspired by German artists Bernd and Hilla Becha who dedicated years to photographing industrial structures, Jamie – through his photographs – makes the seemingly impossible possible giving emotive, personable characters to these objects and shining a entirely new light on these huge structures. Who knew?
